1.TRAINING FOR TRAINERS ON THE EUROPEAN UNION-2004

Within the framework of the project lectures to the primary and secondary education teachers on the European Union issues in the in-house training courses of the Ministry of National Education (MEB) of the Republic of Turkey, and seminars at selected high schools on the weekends were given, and EU handbook was prepared. 7000 primary and secondary education teachers in 65 courses in the Ministry of National Education and in 12 seminars in total were given training and TURKAB publication “What Is This EU All About?” was distributed to the participants.
TURKAB gave EU seminars to 6569 teachers in 68 in-house training courses between June and December 2004 in 14 cities, namely Ankara, Istanbul, Aksaray, Eskişehir, Van, Malatya, Rize, Sinop, Yalova, Bursa, Duzce, Mersin, Izmir ve Canakkale. In addition, within the Project framework, TURKAB gave EU seminars in Ankara ODTU High School and Istanbul Private Koc High School. Thus, the total number of teachers participated in the EU seminars reached 6989. At the end of the Project, the “EU Guide for Teachers” was prepared and it was published by the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey.
2. TRAINING FOR TRAINERS ON THE EUROPEAN UNION-2005

Lectures to the primary and secondary education teachers on the European Union issues in the in-house training courses of the Ministry of National Education (MEB) of the Republic of Turkey, and seminars at selected high schools were given as well as 2 In-house Training Courses on the EU giving in-depth information on the EU and aiming to train teachers to be formatters were prepared. Within the scope of the project in 2005, 10.967 teachers in 72 In-house Training courses in 16 cities, Adana, Afyon, Aksaray, Ankara, Antalya, Balıkesir, Düzce, Eskişehir, İstanbul, İzmir, Kars, Mersin, Rize, Samsun Van and Yalova were given courses; and teachers and students in Özel Bilkent Lisesi, TED Ankara Koleji, Bilkent University, Faculty of Education in Ankara, Avrupa Koleji, Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi, Şişli Terakki Lisesi, Üsküdar Lions İ.Ö.O. and Pınarkulu İ.Ö.O in İstanbul and teachers working under Directorate General for National Education in Gaziantep were given seminars on the EU. Within the framework of the project, 13,000 teachers and students in total participated to the courses and seminars. TURKAB publication “EU Guide for the Teachers” was distributed to the participants.
3. TRAINING FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS ON EUROPEAN UNION (Ongoing)
The project on giving seminars to the elementary and secondary school teachers and students on the European Union is being carried out. Seminars are given by the TURKAB High Advisory Council Members or TURKAB staff upon request. TURKAB’s publications “What Is This EU All About?” and “EU Guide for Teachers” are distributed to the participants.
4. THE PROTOCOL FOR SERVICES IN THE EU ACCESSION PROCESS (Ongoing)
Within the framework of the protocol TURKAB signed with EBSO (Aegean Region Chamber of Industry) on 26 October 2004, a Working Group is active for the coordination of the services and support that will be given to the Turkish industries by evaluating the negotiation process on the way to the EU Accession of Turkey in a best way so as to ensure that the Turkish industries will not have any loss in the transition and integration process to the EU and achieve a strong and healthy transition. The other partners of the Working Group are ABIGEM-Izmir (EU Turkey Business Centers- Izmir) and IRC EGE (EU Innovation Relay Center).
5. YOUTH AGAINST INTOLERANCE
The project titled “Youth Against Intolerance” accepted within the framework of National Agency Youth Programs (Action 1) aims to establish the facts of current state and raise awareness in the participating countries. Initially, there will be a research in Spain, Malta and Greece on racism and xenophobia. Based on the results of this research, workshops will be carried out during the first week of September in order to find solutions to the problems that were determined.
